Welding Lens

Elliott Australia has supplied cover and filter lenses to the welding industry for than 15 years.

Elliott Australia’s range of welding lenses includes both cover and filter lenses, offering protection across a broad range of welding situations.

Cover lens – first layer offering protection from spatter and other debris.

Filter lens – Glass filter or Omni-View providing protection from infra-red and ultra violet radiation.

Cover Lens
The cover lenses in the Elliott Australia range are optically correct lenses with a surface providing the highest resistance to welding spatter. A cover lens is designed to go in front of the filter lens regardless of whether a filter or an Omni-View lens is used.

A cover lens, generally known as a CR39 for a Colombian Resin lens:

  • provides protection for the glass filter lens from heat and welding spatter
  • reduces time and money spent in replacing filter lenses
  • outlasts other types of cover lenses

Elliott Australia cover lenses are available in two sizes:

  • 2” x 4 ¼” or 50mm x 106mm, packaged individually in clear plastic
  • 50mm round – suitable for Oxy Welding (gas Welding) goggles.

Filter Lenses

Welding filter lenses provide protection from infra-red and ultra violet radiation while welding. Elliott Australia offers two types of filter lenses:

  • Glass filter Lens
  • Polycarbonate Omni-View filter lens

Glass filter lenses:

  • manufactured from the highest quality glass
  • is compliant with International Standard ISO 4850
  • available in a variety of filter shades from 8 – 13.

Choosing the filter shades for your needs

  • the lower the number, the lighter the lens
  • most popular shades are 9,10 and 11
  • shade selection is usually a personal choice.
  • the higher the amperage, the higher shade lens required. However if the operator has poor eyesight they may prefer to us a lighter shade lens.

Polycarbonate Omni-View filter lens

  • has a polycarbonate base with a gold coating, allowing allows welders to see their work in true natural colours
  • suitable for most welding situations
  • designed to reflect radiant heat
  • protects against infra-red and ultra violet radiation
  • protects against flying particles likely to break ordinary glass filters
  • available in a variety of shades from 9-13

Using the Omni-View filter lens

  • the gold coating must face outwards
  • cover lens is recommended to prevent filter lens damage

Elliott Australia’s Polycarbonate Omni-View filter lens filter lenses are available in one size:
